In New York, the Palestinian Ambassador to the United Nations, Riyad Mansour, became visibly emotional during a Security Council session focused on the crisis in Gaza. He shared the tragic news that more than 5,000 Palestinian children have died since March amid ongoing conflict. His speech highlighted the urgent need for the international community to respond to the growing humanitarian disaster.

The meeting discussed calls for an immediate ceasefire and for humanitarian aid to be allowed into Gaza without restrictions. Mansour accused Israeli forces of targeting civilians and urged countries to take swift action to protect the people in Gaza. The room was filled with a solemn mood as diplomats expressed sympathy for the victims and emphasized the importance of protecting civilians.

Despite this, the Security Council remained divided. No agreement was reached on a joint resolution to address the conflict, reflecting deep political disagreements. The conflict has caused widespread damage in Gaza, forcing thousands to leave their homes. Basic supplies like food, water, and medicine are running low. Aid groups warn that famine and disease could follow if the fighting does not stop.

The emotional address by Mansour brought attention to the heavy human cost of the fighting. Many innocent lives have been lost, especially children who will never see peace. The international community faces growing pressure to find solutions that bring relief and end the violence.
