Pakistan’s Army Chief, General Asim Munir, has firmly declared that no force can shake Balochistan or Pakistan, even stating that “ten generations of terrorists” would not succeed in harming the region. In a strong address during the Overseas Pakistanis Convention in Islamabad on Wednesday, General Munir reiterated the Pakistan Army’s commitment to eradicating terrorism from the province. He assured that groups like the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF), and Baloch Republican Army (BRA) will not prevail in their efforts.
Army Chief’s Bold Promise to Defeat Terrorism:
During his speech, General Munir emphasized that Pakistan’s armed forces will continue to counter terrorist activities in Balochistan with unwavering determination. He specifically named the BLA, BLF, and BRA as the key groups being targeted in the ongoing military operations.
“We will beat the hell out of these terrorists very soon. You think these 1,500 terrorists belonging to the BLA, BLF, and BRA can take Balochistan from us?” General Munir asked, expressing confidence in the military’s strength to neutralize the threat posed by these organizations.
Munir strongly rebuffed the notion that a small group of militants could decide the fate of Pakistan, asserting, “Even ten generations of terrorists cannot harm Balochistan and Pakistan.” He also highlighted the critical role of the people of Pakistan, noting that the unity between the public and armed forces is essential for overcoming all challenges.
“As long as the brave people of this country stand with the Pakistan Armed Forces, your army can easily face every difficulty,” he added. The Army Chief concluded by reinforcing the message that Pakistan will remove any obstacles standing in the way of its progress, whether they are terrorist organizations or external threats.
Recent Escalation of Militancy in Balochistan:
Balochistan has recently seen an uptick in militant activity, with rebel groups targeting both civilian and military assets. The Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and other separatist factions have stepped up attacks in the region, including high-profile incidents such as the hijacking of the Jaffar Express train on March 11. The train, which was carrying 440 passengers, was ambushed by Baloch rebel groups, resulting in the capture of several hostages.
In response, Pakistan launched a two-day security operation aimed at neutralizing the rebel threat and rescuing the hostages. The operation, led by the Pakistan Army’s Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) wing, resulted in the killing of 33 rebels.
However, the Baloch Liberation Army, represented by spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch, claimed that despite issuing an ultimatum to the Pakistani forces, their demands were ignored. This, they stated, led to the tragic deaths of 214 hostages, underlining the ongoing risks and complexities involved in the conflict.
General Munir’s International Message of Support:
In addition to addressing the situation in Balochistan, General Munir also expressed solidarity with the Palestinian people. He voiced Pakistan’s support for the Palestinians who have been suffering due to Israel’s military actions in Gaza. “The hearts of Pakistanis beat in unison with the Muslims of Gaza,” Munir said, reinforcing Pakistan’s long-standing political stance on the Palestinian issue.
General Asim Munir’s remarks come at a critical time for Balochistan, where militant activity has been on the rise. His strong statements reflect the government’s resolve to crush terrorism in the province and ensure stability for the broader nation. The army’s continued focus on the BLA, BLF, and BRA indicates that these groups will remain primary targets in ongoing security operations.
As Balochistan remains a flashpoint of regional instability, Pakistan’s security forces are determined to maintain control and safeguard national sovereignty. With the full support of the Pakistani people, the armed forces aim to neutralize these threats and restore peace to the region.
