Authorities are investigating Odisha-based YouTuber Priyanka Senapati in relation to the India-Pakistan espionage case involving travel vlogger Jyoti Malhotra. Jyoti Malhotra was arrested recently on suspicion of spying for Pakistan and maintaining contact with Pakistani operatives and intelligence officials. Priyanka Senapati, also a travel content creator, is now under scrutiny due to her links with Jyoti and her visit to Kartarpur in Pakistan a few months ago.
The Puri Superintendent of Police confirmed that they are probing Priyanka Senapati’s connection with Jyoti Malhotra and her visit to the Kartarpur corridor, a sensitive border crossing between India and Pakistan. The visit happened approximately three to four months ago and is part of the ongoing investigation.
Priyanka Senapati has addressed the investigation on social media, denying any knowledge of Jyoti’s alleged spying activities. She has said that Jyoti was just a friend she met through YouTube and that she would not have kept in touch if she had known about the accusations.
Priyanka has a growing social media following, with over 20,000 followers on Instagram and more than 14,600 subscribers on YouTube. She shares travel videos exploring Odisha and other parts of India. Recently, she posted a video about her visit to Pakistan titled “Odia Girl in Pakistan | Kartarpur Corridor Guide | Odia Vlog” on her YouTube channel.
Reports indicate that Priyanka accompanied Jyoti Malhotra to the Jagannath temple in Puri, showing their close association. While Jyoti remains in custody, Priyanka has not been arrested. She is currently staying at her residence in Puri and has cooperated with investigators.
Her family confirmed that they were questioned by authorities about their possible involvement in the espionage case. They said they are ready to assist further if needed.
The Kartarpur Corridor is a visa-free border crossing that allows Indian Sikh pilgrims to visit the Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Pakistan. Due to tensions between India and Pakistan, travel through this corridor is under strict watch by security agencies.
The investigation into Priyanka Senapati follows concerns over the suspected spying network linked to Jyoti Malhotra. Authorities continue to look into all connections and travel activities related to the case.
