Gera residents and visitors can shop for second-hand clothes on Saturday, April 5. The market will take place from 10 AM to 1 PM at Zwickauer Straße 11 in Gera-Liebschwitz. This event focuses on sustainability, fashion, and community. Over 30 stalls will offer carefully selected women’s and children’s clothing, shoes, and accessories. - Exploring Gera’s East Modernism
On Saturday, April 5, Steffi Kopp will lead a tour about East Modernism in Gera. Participants will visit the Cultural and Congress Center (KuK), local apartment blocks, and architectural art. The tour starts at 2 PM at the lower entrance of KuK on Museumsplatz. Tickets are available from the guide.
- Strong Women of Gera

April 6 marks the 80th anniversary of the most devastating bombing of Gera during World War II. Lydia Raupach will share stories of those who lived through the attack and the difficult years before it. This tour starts at 10 AM at the East Cemetery and is free to attend.
- The Jewish History of Gera
On Sunday at 2 PM, Lydia Raupach and Steffi Kopp will lead a tour about Jewish life in Gera. The walk will focus on Jewish business owners, workers, and families who suffered during the Nazi era. The tour ends at Villa Mazur on Ebelingstraße. It starts at the former synagogue memorial on Anna-Schneider-Weg and is free of charge.
Community Talks and a Spring Cleanup
The ÖDP Ostthüringen party invites residents to the second “Gerschen Gemeinwohlgespräch.” This discussion will take place on Friday, April 4, at 6:30 PM at “Mai Kitchen” on Puschkinplatz 7. The topics will focus on societal changes, challenges, and opportunities.

Alan Torres to Perform in Braunichswalde

Jörg Neuhäuser’s Art Exhibit

He creates multi-layered images by painting over printed backgrounds. Born in Gera in 1967, Neuhäuser is a self-taught artist. His works have been displayed in multiple exhibitions since 2000. One of his most famous projects features 100 churches from Gera and its surroundings.
