Israeli Airstrike Hits Home in Gaza’s Khan Younis, Reports Say Several Killed and Injured

Several people have been killed or injured after an Israeli airstrike hit a home in the Al Zana area of Khan Younis, a city in southern Gaza, according to Palestinian media reports cited by Al Jazeera. The attack happened early Monday morning. Medics arrived quickly to help the wounded and carry victims to the hospital.

Israeli Airstrike Hits Civilian Home

According to Quds News Network, the bombed house belonged to the Baraka family. The area is packed with displaced families who fled other parts of Gaza due to the ongoing war.

Videos shared online showed medics carrying bodies and wounded people into ambulances. The building was destroyed, with broken concrete and dust covering the ground.

Escalating Violence Across Gaza

This attack adds to the rising number of deaths in Gaza as fighting between Israel and Palestinian groups continues. Since October 2023, the Gaza Strip has seen repeated airstrikes, heavy shelling, and a large number of civilian casualties.

The strike on Khan Younis comes just days after similar attacks in Rafah and Deir al-Balah. Dozens of people were killed in those areas too.

Civilians Trapped in the Conflict

Life in Khan Younis has become dangerous and uncertain. “We don’t sleep. Every night, we hear drones and explosions,” said one resident. “We just hope we survive the next day.”

The Palestinian Ministry of Health says more than 33,000 people have died in Gaza since the war started. Thousands are children. Many more are injured or still trapped under the rubble of destroyed buildings.

Aid Agencies Sound the Alarm

Aid groups warn that Gaza is facing a full-blown humanitarian crisis. Hospitals are packed and short on supplies. Power outages make it hard to treat the wounded.

“We are overwhelmed. There’s no space and no medicine,” said a doctor at Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis. Doctors Without Borders also reported a lack of fuel, medical supplies, and clean water.

The World Health Organization says Gaza’s health system could collapse without immediate help.

World Leaders Call for Calm

Leaders across the world have called for both sides to stop the fighting. The United Nations, European Union, and several Arab nations are asking for peace and protection of civilians.

“Civilians must not be targets,” said UN Secretary-General António Guterres. “All sides must follow international law.”

Ceasefire Talks Still Stalled

Talks led by Egypt and Qatar have not yet led to a ceasefire. One major issue is the release of Israeli hostages taken by Hamas during the October 2023 attack.

Israel says its mission is to stop Hamas and make sure it can’t strike again. The Israeli army has not released a statement on the Khan Younis airstrike at this time.

Global Outrage Grows

The attack has led to more protests in cities like Istanbul, London, and New York. Protesters are demanding an end to the violence and more help for Palestinians.

Countries such as Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt have condemned the airstrike. Human Rights Watch is calling for a full investigation into the incident and others like it.
