Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) President Keith Mweemba met with Copper Queens head coach Nora Hauptle at Football House on Friday. The meeting focused on preparing the team for upcoming international matches.
The Copper Queens are scheduled to play two friendly games against South Africa and Botswana. These matches will take place in South Africa later this month and on June 3rd. They serve as important preparation for the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), which will be held in Morocco.
These friendly matches are designed to help the team improve their tactics and build stronger teamwork. Facing competitive opponents like South Africa and Botswana will give the Copper Queens valuable experience ahead of the main tournament.
The 2024 WAFCON is set to take place from July 1 to July 14 in Morocco. Zambia is seen as one of the stronger teams in the competition. Over recent years, the Copper Queens have improved significantly thanks to focused coaching and growing talent.
The Football Association of Zambia continues to support the development of women’s football. The friendly matches are part of a larger effort to increase the team’s experience and readiness for major international events.
