Ryan Reynolds has given his first late-night interview since the legal battle between his wife Blake Lively and actor-director Justin Baldoni began

Reynolds Talks Football, Not the Lawsuit

Reynolds, 48, joined Stephen Colbert on The Late Show on Monday, May 12. He appeared in the show’s fun segment with puppies called Rescue Dog Rescue. He also spoke with Colbert, 61, about season 4 of Welcome to Wrexham. The show follows Reynolds’ Welsh football team Wrexham A.F.C. and returns to FX on May 15

Reynolds shared how exciting it is to attend Wrexham games. He said it’s full of energy and joy, especially in today’s world, which he called a digital hate tank. He also said that concerts, sports, and movies are great ways for people to come together

He did not talk about the legal fight involving his wife and Baldoni

Reynolds Also Appears on Conan O’Brien’s Podcast

Earlier that same day, Reynolds was a guest on the Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend podcast. He again avoided any talk about the lawsuit or drama involving Lively and Baldoni

Blake Lively Accused Justin Baldoni of Misconduct

Blake Lively, 37, filed a lawsuit in December 2024 against Baldoni, 41. She accused him of sexual harassment, creating a toxic work environment, causing emotional distress, and launching a smear campaign against her. Baldoni strongly denied all the claims

Baldoni Responded With a Lawsuit of His Own

In January, Baldoni sued Lively, Reynolds, and Lively’s publicist. He claimed defamation, civil extortion, false light invasion of privacy, and more. Lively and Reynolds denied the accusations. Lively’s publicist later asked to be removed from the case

Reynolds Tries to Get the Lawsuit Thrown Out

In March, Reynolds filed a motion to dismiss Baldoni’s case. His legal team argued that Baldoni’s lawsuit had no clear proof of anything Reynolds said that was false or harmful

They stated that even if Reynolds called Baldoni a predator in private, that would not count as defamation. They added that Reynolds believed what he said based on his wife’s complaints. His lawyers also said Baldoni had spoken in the past about his behavior toward women and consent

Reynolds’ lawyers said he has the right to share his opinion, especially since critics have attacked him and Lively during the past year

Baldoni’s Lawyer Responds

After the dismissal request, Baldoni’s lawyer Bryan Freedman said Reynolds played a big role in harming Baldoni’s career. He claimed Reynolds tried to get Baldoni dropped by his talent agency and ruin his image in Hollywood
