Some high school football stars in Florida are more than just athletic. They also post huge numbers every week. These players not only impress college scouts but also lead their teams with standout performances.

While stats alone don’t always tell the full story, some athletes make it clear with their numbers that they are top talents. These five Florida high school football recruits from the class of 2026 are doing just that.

Let’s take a closer look at who’s stuffing the stat sheet — and why college programs are lining up to sign them.

Charles From Venice: A Nightmare for Quarterbacks

USA Today Florida Network Rank: 28
Position: Edge Rusher

Charles has become one of the most feared defenders in Florida. In the 2024 season, he racked up 15.5 tackles for loss, 13.5 sacks, and 20 quarterback hurries. These numbers are even more impressive considering Venice faced seven teams ranked in the USA Today Florida Super 25.

Charles didn’t just perform against weaker teams — he made big plays against top talent. In four of those tough games, he had multiple sacks or tackles for loss. At 6-foot-2 and 230 pounds, he’s strong, fast, and hard to block. His upcoming visits to Kentucky, Louisville, Miami, and Missouri show that top programs are paying attention.

Jesse Harden From Plant City: Touchdown Machine

USA Today Florida Network Rank: 90
Position: Wide Receiver

Jesse Harden made headlines at Spoto High School with some jaw-dropping stats. He caught 37 passes for 1,140 yards, which means he averaged over 30 yards per catch. Even more impressive — 19 of his 37 catches were touchdowns.

That means more than half of his receptions ended in the end zone. Harden also made plays on defense, with four interceptions, and showed his versatility by scoring touchdowns on both kick and punt returns. At 6-foot-2 and 180 pounds, Harden is fast, explosive, and can turn any play into six points.

Chauncey Kennon From Booker: Lockdown Cornerback

USA Today Florida Network Rank: 8
Position: Cornerback

Quarterbacks don’t throw Chauncey Kennon’s way for a reason. The 6-foot-1, 175-pound cornerback had 16 pass breakups and 33 tackles, including 23 solo tackles, last season. He also added an interception and a forced fumble.

Kennon can also play offense. He caught 10 passes for 317 yards and scored six touchdowns. That’s over 31 yards per catch. His skill on both sides of the ball makes him one of the most complete players in Florida.

He has lined up visits with big programs like Auburn, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, and Miami — and it’s easy to see why.

Amari Thomas From Blountstown: Touchdown Every Few Touches

USA Today Florida Network Rank: 46
Position: Running Back

Amari Thomas, who has already committed to Florida State, had an amazing 2024 season at Marianna High School. He recorded 2,127 yards of total offense and scored 37 touchdowns34 rushing and three receiving.

That means Thomas scored on more than 20 percent of his touches. He also accounted for 56 percent of all touchdowns scored by his team, the Bulldogs. These numbers show that Thomas doesn’t just move the chains — he finishes drives.

Justin Williams From Buchholz: Dual Threat Back

USA Today Florida Network Rank: 49
Position: Running Back

Justin Williams had one of the most well-rounded seasons in recent memory. He put up 2,535 total yards with both rushing and receiving numbers that most players dream of.

He ran 108 times for 1,023 yards and 16 touchdowns and caught 85 passes for 1,473 yards and 13 touchdowns. That’s right — Williams had over 1,000 yards both rushing and receiving.

He also played in 14 games without missing a single one, which is rare for a player who touches the ball that often. Williams has more than 20 college offers and is set to visit Florida State officially.

Why These Numbers Matter

College scouts don’t always focus on raw stats. A player’s scheme, position, and role all matter. However, when an athlete puts up big numbers and plays at a high level, that’s hard to ignore.

Each of these five players is not only one of Florida’s top high school football recruits but also someone who delivers on the field every week. Whether it’s sacks, touchdowns, or game-changing plays, their stats tell the story of hard work, talent, and potential.

As the 2025 season approaches, expect to hear more about these rising stars. College programs are watching — and fans should be too.
