Miss Eco International 2025, Alexie Brooks, returns to the Philippines after her victory in Egypt. The beauty queen from Iloilo dedicated her triumph not only to her country but also to her late grandmother, who passed away last year.
Upon arriving in Manila on Monday, Brooks shared her emotional journey with the media. “I wanted to win not only to bring glory to the country but also to give my grandma a beautiful birthday gift,” she explained.
Brooks’ grandmother, whom she lovingly called “Lola Basing,” played a vital role in raising her. Brooks reflected on the deep connection they shared, saying, “So when I won, the first thing that made me cry was knowing I made my grandma happy and proud. Even though she is no longer with us, I’m still doing my best for her.”
A Meaningful Milestone for the Philippines
Brooks’ victory marks a significant achievement for the Philippines, as she becomes the third Miss Eco International titleholder from the country. Previous winners include Kathleen Paton in 2022 and Cynthia Thomalla in 2018.
“I feel honored to be part of this legacy,” Brooks said. “Winning this title is not just for me but for the entire nation, and it’s a reminder that anything is possible with dedication and hard work.”
A Purposeful Reign Ahead
Looking ahead to her reign, Brooks shared her determination to use her platform for meaningful causes. “My grandmother just passed away, and I don’t have anyone left,” she explained. “So, I would love to dedicate my life to bigger causes than myself.”
Her personal journey has shaped her view on life, and she’s eager to give back. “I want to make a real difference,” she added. “I’m committed to using my voice and influence to help others.”
A Restful Return
While Brooks is eager to begin her reign with purpose, she also plans to take some time to relax and reconnect with her roots. “Now that I’m home, I’m craving adobo,” she said with a smile. “I think I’ll be the one cooking it, too!”
As Miss Eco International 2025, Brooks is excited for the future but remains grounded, cherishing the memories of her grandmother and her deep commitment to family.
